Best for borrowing

Borrow without interest

Need to finance a big purchase, or move debt somewhere cheaper? These cards hold interest at 0% for over a year.

First, the honest part.

If you carry a balance, ignore rewards. 2% cash back is nothing against 24% interest — a rewards card that carries a balance loses money every month. Borrow at 0%, pay it off inside the window, and go back to rewards after.

Our pick.

The catch most lists skip.

The 0% window is a deadline, not a gift. Whatever balance is left when it ends starts accruing at the ongoing rate — often 20%+ — immediately. Divide what you owe by the number of months and pay that much every month; carry a $3,000 balance at 24% instead and it costs about $720 a year in interest. APRs are variable and change with the market — verify the current terms on the issuer's page before applying.

APR data verified July 2026 against issuer pages. Not financial advice — if you're struggling with debt, a nonprofit credit counselor (NFCC.org) is free and safer than any card.
